DEVELOPMENTAL EDITING

This is the heaviest level of editing and focuses on the big picture of the manuscript (plot, pacing, character development, etc.). I will take one pass at the manuscript, using detailed inline comments to:

• Analyze the plot for pacing, inconsistencies, and ideas for improvement

• Evaluate the characters for consistency in voice and dialogue as well as character development, motivation, etc.

• Provide feedback on the overall structure, tone, and premise of the manuscript

 

Although I will point out any glaring issues, I am not deeply concerned with grammar or punctuation errors at this stage of editing.

In addition to tracked changes, you will receive a 5-10 page evaluation of the manuscript as a whole with suggestions for improvement.
