Hi, I'm TAYLOR!

Green Board

9 YEARS

of professional editing experience

I'm so excited to work with you to make your manuscript the best it can be. I have 9 years of editing experience, including published manuscripts, and have most recently worked as an editor for Disney

I majored in Linguistics and minored in Creative Writing at Duke University, where I graduated magna cum laude and served as Fiction Editor in Chief of the Duke Writers' Collective. From there, I obtained a master's degree from the University of Florida in Communications.

Working consistently with Taylor supported me in signing with my agent and securing a first book contract! Her articulate edits always honor my voice and elevate my vision. Savvy and spot on, Taylor's light touch enhances each project and keeps my creativity flowing.

What kinds of books do you edit?

I edit any and all fiction (novellas and novels welcome, but no short stories, please!). This includes picture books, middle grade, young adult, and adult, though I have a special soft spot for young adult fiction. I have experience in any and all genres (romance, thriller, fantasy, contemporary fiction — you name it!), and look forward to reading your special work of art.

How does this process work?

What are your edits like?

Once you reach out, you can expect an email within 24 business hours to kick off your project! I will draft a contract with per-word pricing and a deadline, with a deposit of 25% due up front and the rest after I deliver your edited manuscript.

On or before the deadline, you will receive your manuscript as a Google Doc with tracked changes turned on, inline comments, and (if purchased) a 5-10 page analysis at the bottom of the document. It should go without saying that I read and edit all manuscripts with my own two eyes, and that your work is never run through any kind of software.

I appreciate and expect feedback on my edits, and love to stay in touch with writers. Please let me know if your work is published — I want to see your dreams come true!

I specialize in editing fiction and love getting into the nitty gritty with plot, character development, and tone and voice. In addition to your chosen edit type (copy, line, or developmental), you can expect notes throughout your manuscript with my gut reactions as a reader (whether it's an "OMG I didn't see that plot twist coming" or "this character is my favorite ever"). Think of me as your editor/beta reader who, above all, is rooting for you and your book to succeed!
